Department Overview:
The BioPharmaceutical Technology Center Institute (BTCI) is a 501(c)(3) science education nonprofit located on the Promega Corporation campus in Fitchburg, WI. BTCI's mission is to advance science education through hands-on, authentic learning experiences, serving over 2,000 students annually through programs including field trips, summer camps, the Wisconsin Stem Cell Symposium, the International Forum on Consciousness, and the Youth Apprenticeship Program in Biotechnology.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The BTC Institute is seeking a Biotechnology Instructor for the 2026–2027 Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Program. This dynamic role involves teaching advanced biotechnology skills and laboratory techniques to high school juniors and seniors, mentoring students through hands-on lab experiences, maintaining course materials, tracking student performance, and collaborating with the lead instructor on curriculum alignment. Lesson planning and grading are required outside of class hours, for an anticipated total commitment of approximately 8 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
Demonstrated experience teaching high school–level or equivalent students
Strong knowledge of biotechnology laboratory techniques and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members
Physical Demands
On campus every Wednesday for class.
