Department Overview:

Rock Paper Scissors is an art exploration studio for kids. We have a studio in Middleton and a new studio near downtown Madison opening fall 2026. We provide a fun, welcoming creative environment for kids to explore a wide variety of art projects and play with open-ended materials. We are intentionally small and focus on creative freedom, peer connection, and individualized support.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Weekend Party Hosts

  • Who: We're looking for energetic, responsible, kid-loving team members with a keen eye for details to host art birthday parties. You'll set the vibe, manage the party timeline, lead the creative experience, interact with kids and families, and make every celebration smooth and memorable. 
  • What: We offer birthday parties at 10am and 2pm on Sundays. 
  • Where: Madison Studio (312 W Lakeside St) or Middleton Studio (7781 Elmwood Ave) 
  • Hours: Part-time, hourly (6 hours/week)
  • Schedule: Availability on Sundays (9am-4pm) with an hour lunch break.
  • Notes: This role can be filled by multiple people, so you do not have to be available every weekend. 
  • Compensation: $18/hour 
  • Start Date: Nov 2026 

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children through babysitting, camps, classrooms, childcare, coaching, or similar settings.

  • Interest in art, education, early childhood, psychology, or another creative or child-centered field.

  • Comfortable interacting with children, parents, and fellow team members in a warm and professional manner.

  • Reliable, punctual, attentive to details, and eager to learn.
