Schedule:

This is a part-time position with approximately 20–30 hours per week, ideally scheduled between 12:00/2 pm and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

We understand that college schedules can be challenging, so we’re willing to be flexible for the right candidate. If you can only work a few days each week or need a later start time, we’d still love to hear from you!

No weekends. Additional hours may be available during the summer.

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $14.00 to $16.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Capitoland Children’s Center is looking for a creative, energetic, and dependable Kids’ Club Programming Coordinator to help make after-school and no-school days fun, engaging, and meaningful for elementary-age children. This position will work directly with children while taking the lead in planning and coordinating activities, themes, and experiences—including crafts, STEM, science, cooking, games, sports, outdoor activities, special events, and Christian/Bible-based programming.

The ideal candidate enjoys coming up with new ideas, working with kids, and taking initiative. We provide the resources, supplies, and support—you bring the creativity! There is plenty of autonomy in this role, along with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow into future leadership positions.

This position is ideal for a college student looking for meaningful experience working with children in a fun, Christ-centered environment. Experience working with children is preferred, and candidates should be comfortable talking with kids about Jesus and incorporating Christian values into activities and everyday interactions.

Qualifications:

Preferred, but not required:

  • Enjoys working with elementary-age children and genuinely wants to make a difference in their lives
  • Creative, energetic, enthusiastic, and able to bring new ideas to life
  • Experience working with children is preferred
  • Comfortable leading groups and managing activities
  • Dependable, responsible, organized, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable talking with children about Jesus and incorporating Christian values and Bible lessons into activities
  • Able to take initiative and confidently plan and implement activities with minimal direction
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A background in education, child development, ministry, recreation, or a related field is a plus
  • Must be able to successfully complete required background checks and training
