Schedule:

Hours only on Monday, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Full days would be great, but also more than willing to accommodate for half-days as class schedule allows within that time frame. Will likely be only 3 out of 4 Mondays a month.

 

Salary/Wage Range:

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are a fun-loving family in the near West Madison area in search of a babysitter/nanny on Mondays for our 4 year old who loves nature, trains, and creating all sorts of things.  We have a nanny four days a week, and our son goes to school Tuesday -Friday, but are looking for care on most Mondays. This could be a full day postion from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or it could be broken into a morning or afternoon shift within that time period. We are seeking experienced, caring individual who truly enjoys spending time with younger children. You'll need to get our house, which is about a 20 minute bike ride from campus on the bike path. We also live close to a bus stop, but no need for transportation beyond that. We live very close to library, park and have a great back yard. One parent will be working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Organize creative activities and other play-based learning (e.g. drawing, reading, and games)
  • Ensure child's safety during indoors and outdoors activities
  • Take care of children in case of injury or illness
  • Supervise breakfast and/or lunch
  • Work with parents to ensure children’s growth and social-emotional development
  • Support appropriate social behaviors, such as being empathic and respectful to each other, and helping out with chores
  • Alert the parents immediately if there are any issues at home

 

Qualifications:

Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience as a Nanny or Babysitter
  • A good understanding of child development in different age stages, including empathic approach to discipline
  • Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage young children
  • A pleasant and patient personality
  • A clean criminal history
  • First aid certification 
  • Ability to provide references upon request
