Qualifications:
Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
By the start of employment, must:
Have completed at least two semesters of college
Be in good standing with the university: the student may not be on university probation for academic or non-academic reasons.
Communications skills
Understand and behave with high integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
Preference in experience in event planning
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Experience with Canva and flyer design.
Able to work independently and efficiently.
Detail-oriented.
Strong desire to support people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong written & verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with academic staff and students.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Undergraduate Program Assistant is generally responsible for supporting various programming efforts in the School of Education’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OEDI). The Undergraduate Program Assistant will work with the Undergraduate Program Manager to provide administrative, programming, marketing, and communications support to all undergraduate and pre-college programs in OEDI, which include the Summer Education Research Program (SERP), the College Access Program (CAPE) and academic year programming.
Assist in planning and coordination of summer and academic year programming.
Provide administrative support to OEDI undergraduate and pre-college programs, including recruitment efforts, program operations, and marketing.
Work with the School of Education’s Communications and Advancement team to design and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, announcements, posting on social media platforms, newsletters, etc.
Manage and monitor communications in the OEDI email account, including sending out communications to academic staff, students, and families.
Assist with the administrative management of program databases and participant information.
Create designs for programmatic documents and materials such as handbooks, schedules, event registration, flyers, and other materials.
Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and team check-ins.
