Department Overview:

MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Sports playing background with experience in youth leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a sports instructor/coach, childcare, or related field.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Ability to serve as a positive role model, mentor, and team member.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Lead and instruct a wide range of different sports and games to middle schoolers in a camp setting.
Plan and implement daily activities following a weekly theme.
Foster a positive, encouraging environment for all campers

Program Dates:
June 10 - 14 2024: Mandatory paid training (40 hours)
June 17 - August 1: Mad City Sports camp program

Work Location:
Hamilton Middle School / Sherman Middle School (camp moves after 3 weeks).
