Qualifications:
Seeking highly responsible college enrolled students in good academic standing who are making satisfactory progress toward a degree. (UW-Madison, Edgewood, Madison College students are all eligible to apply.) Commitment to working with a diverse clientele required. At least 3 semester commitment. Thorough knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Canva and others is preferred. Previous experience with social media, design, and article writing is preferred. Excellent written and oral skills. It is important to consider the possibility of traveling to our remote sites in Oneida and Lac du Flambeau. All finalists are subject to criminal background check. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to develop and implement effective social media strategies. Create content that attracts the attention of target audiences. Scheduling social media posts per the plan. Monitor social media platforms. Create innovative ideas and concepts. Create flyers and other marketing materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent writing skills to website articles and social media captions. Ability to problem-solve and adapt to a shifting variety of duties; English fluency required. Advanced knowledge and skill level with a variety of uses of technology tools, such as social media platforms, online calendaring, Canva, and email applications.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Social Media Assistant will work directly with the Associate Director of Programming to plan, create, manage, implement, and evaluate the social media marketing for the Information Technology Academy’s programs and events. The person in this position will oversee all social media accounts, develop strategies to increase fellowship and engagement, manage regular posting schedules, and monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely manner. There will also be cross-promotion of events hosted by other UW departments, take photos at events and upload to facebook albums, write articles for the ITA News feed on the website, and create videos highlighting the program. Manage photos and videos. Additional Duties Include: ● Attend ITA staff meetings ● Attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor ● Assist with and attend ITA special events ● Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical Demands:
Must be able to occasionally lift or carry office supplies, marketing products, supplies, camera or video equipment, up to 40 pounds
