Department Overview:

The UW E-Business Consortium (UWEBC) is a pillar within the Office of Interdisciplinary Professional Programs (InterPro). The office seeks to fulfill the university’s commitment to the “Wisconsin Idea” by providing education and training to practicing professionals and organizations. Since 1998, UWEBC has provided peer-to-peer learning events to more than 90 leading companies enabling them to gain competitive advantages through adoption of emerging information technologies and business best practices.

Qualifications:

University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduate students only. All majors and fields of study are encouraged to apply!

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Self-driven, efficient, and positive work ethic
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adopt new processes on-the-job

The following experience is preferred, but not required:

• Customer service
• Microsoft Office Programs
• Cloud-based document management tools (i.e., Box, Google Drive)
• Internal messaging apps (i.e., Teams)
• Video/audio/photo editing software (i.e., MS Photos, Kaltura, Camtasia)
• Web conferencing tools (i.e., Zoom)

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Provide support in the planning, delivery, and follow-up activities related to in-person, virtual, and hybrid UWEBC Events. Duties include:

• Create, edit, and organize procedural documentation
• Provide customer support
• Promote upcoming events
• Provide live support during an event
• Edit and publish event recordings and resources
• Tabulate event evaluations and feedback
• Maintain membership database
• Complete special projects or other related tasks as assigned

While supporting UWEBC events you’ll also have an opportunity to network with executives and senior managers from leading companies across multiple industries in the region, and learn about key technology trends and emerging business practices impacting companies today.

Physical Demands:

May occasionally need to help transport event handouts to the event location and/or help set up tables or chairs in the event meeting space.
