Qualifications:

Past work in a field research position is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors, work well as part of a team, and have excellent attention to detail. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Assist the Koch lab research team with various turfgrass research projects throughout the summer. Key responsibilities include:
1. Layout and maintain various research plots on putting green turf, fairway turf, and lawn-height turf.
2. Helping to maintain research plots which includes fertilizing, verticutting, aerifying, hand watering, edging, topdressing, etc.
3. Assisting in running various research trials which includes spray painting plot dots and assessing disease severity.
4. Keep research facilities clean and in good working order.

Physical Demands:

The majority of work will be conducted outdoors. Sun protection and adequate water will be provided. Light physical activity will be required, including walking and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
