Department Overview:

The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the university's education, research, and outreach activities.

The Grounds Department organizes, coordinates and performs activities that support campus landscaping, gardening, and grounds maintenance, including string trimming, mowing, and mulching.

Qualifications:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended period of time.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, judgment, and problem-solving
· Ability to work independently.
· Quality-oriented and efficient.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Grounds Department is seeking independent, self-motivated student employees to assist with beautifying campus by performing activities that support our landscaping, gardening, and ground maintenance at UW Madison campus. Primary duties would include controlling weed growth in landscape planting beds, watering, mulching, debris clean-up, sting trimming, and mowing.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work on-site. Standing/walking for 6 to 7 hour periods. Lifting up to 25 pounds.
