Qualifications:

>>Previous work experience is a must, in or out of the lab.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

>>Student should be able to follow written and oral instructions accurately, work independently (after training), schedule and perform tasks efficiently.
>>Strong attention to detail is a must.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The student will be trained for all duties by members of the lab during the first few weeks of the position.

The student will perform general lab duties such as:
• Wash glassware through the lab dishwasher
• Autoclave (sterilize) glassware, pipette tips, and various other materials used in our microbiology research
• Maintain lab supplies on shelves
• Routine spore and eyewash testing
• Lab cleaning (along with lab mates)

>>Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work for at least part of winter and summer breaks.
>>Preference will be given to candidates who can (tentatively) commit for at least one year.
>>This is not a research position.

Physical Demands:

Some lifting of ~20 pounds is required.
