Hours scheduled between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with rare evenings/weekends commitments, flexible scheduling.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have the following: Strong graphic design skills Be creative and witty Passion for mobilizing social change in underrepresented communities Work well in a team environment, specifically on the Morgridge Center’s communications team Willing to adjust to various projects as assigned Ability to commit a minimum of two semesters to the position Preference for journalism, marketing, and communications majors
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong interpersonal and team communication skills Effective organizational and time management skills Efficient writing skills, creative thinking, a sense of tone and humor Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus; Canva may be applicable. Opportunity to learn the Adobe Creative Suite will be provided Photography/editing skills Handling and managing high-end digital cameras
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Develop and create graphics related to Morgridge Center programming. Contribute and manage content primarily for Instagram and occasionally, Facebook and LinkedIn. Engage with other accounts sharing similar interests or content Attend Morgridge Center events when possible, to capture social media posts real-time Work collaboratively with the Morgridge Center staff to successfully promote programs and events. Explore new ways to creatively utilize social media platforms and strategies to increase the Morgridge Center’s brand recognition and visibility on campus and in the community Attend Morgridge Center trainings, staff meetings and events as required to include but not limited to Bi-weekly student staff meeting on Mondays, 5:30-6:30pm and a weekly 1 on 1 check-in with supervisor Assume additional responsibilities related to writing, photography, videography and audio projects

May need to lift or move supplies weighing 30 lbs or less.
