Qualifications:
Will Train - No formal education required, though high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. - Experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not required; we are willing to train. - Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching. - Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dishwashing areas. This role involves washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring the kitchen remains organized, assisting with basic food preparation tasks, and supporting the kitchen staff in maintaining a smooth operation. This position will assist with delivering food to customers and clearing tables.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
1. Dishwashing & Cleaning: - Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen tools using a commercial dishwasher and/or by hand. - Ensure all dishes, cutlery, and glassware are properly sanitized and returned to their designated areas. - Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, and equipment to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety. - Take out garbage, recycle waste, and clean trash bins. - Maintain cleanliness in dishwashing, food prep, and storage areas. 2. Kitchen Assistance: - Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients. - Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed. - Help organize food deliveries and store ingredients properly in designated storage areas. - Ensure all equipment, such as dishwashing machines, is functioning properly and report any issues to management. 3. Food Runner: - Deliver food from the kitchen to the dining and bar area. - Clear dirty or used dishes from tables to be washed in the kitchen. - Using a food grade sanitizer wipe down tables after use.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as required by the restaurant schedule. - Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals. - Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
