Department Overview:

 School for Workers is the original university-based labor education program in the United States. Started in 1925 as one of the first operational components of the Wisconsin Idea, the School's faculty and staff have long brought teaching, research, and outreach to thousands of workers, unions and employers throughout Wisconsin, the nation and the world.

Qualifications:

 Bilingual – English and Spanish.
Basic Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic understanding of database management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Preferred candidate would have the ability to:
Assist with image cataloging and database development.
Scanning, integration and preservation of film negatives.
Appointment setting.
Assist with interviews (if needed).
Transcription of interviews.
Attend project team meetings.
Communicate with project staff.
Assist with other project duties.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Documenting Wisconsin Latino Labor and Civil Rights Social Movement Organizations and Their Impacts on U.S. Society.

This research project aims to document and analyze the history and impact of Wisconsin Latino labor and civil rights social movement organizations, with a focus on Obreros Unidos. By utilizing Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) methods, we will collaborate with key stakeholders to preserve and share the legacy of these movements.

Physical Demands:

Light lifting up to 5lbs.
