Department Overview:

CDR's licensed pilot plant is located within the University of Wisconsin's Babcock Hall and allows for flexibility in all aspects of the dairy manufacturing process. The CDR team works with cheese, butter, yogurt, dairy powders, and more. Staff works with customers to set up, design, and carry out dairy trials. Contracted trials may involve testing ingredients or equipment, developing dairy products, optimizing flavor and performance in existing dairy products, or simply finding answers to client questions

Part time Spring (Jan) 2025 if possible; full time Summer (May) 2025

Qualifications:

- Enrolled as a college student pursuing a degree in food science, dairy technology, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with the plant's diverse workforce.
- A passion for the dairy industry and a desire to contribute to research and innovation.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining processing equipment, cleaning and assembling machinery, assisting in research trials, collaborating with our skilled team to drive innovation in dairy processing, and meeting food safety requirements and basic documentation. This internship position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the dairy industry and contribute to cutting-edge research and development initiatives.
