Department Overview:
Since 1994, the Internet Scout Research Group has focused on developing better tools and services for finding, filtering, and presenting online information and metadata. Located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison's campus, and part of the University's College of Letters and Sciences, Scout has access to highly educated content specialists and a world-class array of computer science and library resources. Our eclectic staff blends academics and professionals from Library Science and Computer Science, along with graduate and undergraduate students studying the sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have experience and interest with social media, outreach and marketing, as well as editing and writing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have experience editing. Should have an understanding of, and interest in, using social media for dissemination and outreach purposes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Outreach Coordinator will: Write and put together our monthly newsletter and a monthly blog post; Support web-based and physical content creation and editing; Research, write, and post weekly news items related to community college and STEM education; Use Hootsuite and Google Suite effectively to manage social media and projects Help with annual outreach planning; Help supervise undergraduate outreach assistants; Support social media and web-based content dissemination; Participate in team and center meetings; and Assist with conference preparation.
