Qualifications:

Required qualifications:
Must have Federal Work Study
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week
Must be able to work in person

Preferred qualifications:
Strong organizational skills
Ability to independently manage time

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Passion for criminal justice research
Interest in working on an interdisciplinary research project
Strong interest in learning about the people involved in the criminal justice system of Wisconsin
Ability to collaborate positively in a team setting
Ability to conduct effective research and be able to persevere through potential road blocks

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Investigative Research Interns will be creating a law enforcement database that our attorneys and support staff can refer to for information on actors within Wisconsin’s criminal justice system. The research will be done primarily through public records.

Investigative Research Interns will:
- Navigate Wisconsin circuit court databases
- Effectively organize their research into Google Sheets
- Submit Open Records Requests to government agencies
- Collaborate with other researchers on how to effectively analyze findings

Physical Demands:

This position requires all work to be performed in-person, onsite, at the Community Law S.C. office space. Will include sitting for extended periods at a computer station.
