Department Overview:

CEETE (Collaborative for Engineering Education and Teaching Effectiveness) supports the College of Engineering in all things teaching and learning related and directly supports the Active Learning classrooms in Wendt Commons. We are a diverse team that partners with instructors, staff, and campus administration to support and continuously improve teaching, learning and the student experience in the College of Engineering. Anticipated Hours Per Week:

Minimum: 6 Maximum: 20

Schedule:

Weekly schedule determined each semester based on employee availability.
Hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5pm
Expected number of hours per week: 10-20 during Summer, 6-12 based on availability during fall and spring semesters.
Must be willing to work some evening and/or outside of regular hours of operation shifts with advance notice.

CEETE is currently operating in-person. Some meetings have remote flexibility.

Applicants must be available to work for Summer 2025. Due to the amount of on-the-job training invested in each Student Consultant, we seek freshman or sophomores who can continue to work with us until graduation and pass on their experiences to others.

Familiarity with course management systems (Canvas)
Ability to utilize professional discretion and care concerning sensitive and protected information
Advanced technical skills
Advanced skills with collaborative content such as Google Drive and Sheets
Prior customer service and/or office experience
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Position Summary/Job Duties:

General duties for the position regularly include assisting instructors in person, by phone and via email; supporting in-progress courses in the Wendt CEETE classrooms, setting up the classroom before classes and exams; helping instructors build course content and put it on the web; referring instructors to appropriate professional staff and resources; answering questions regarding Canvas, programs and services related to teaching and learning; and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

Lifting 25 lbs may be asked, but it is not a requirement for hiring.
