Department Overview:

The University of Wisconsin Athletic Events & Promotional Marketing Office is seeking candidates for Marketing Interns for the 2025-2026 academic year. This intensive internship will provide hands on experience in Division I college athletics and will have a variety of responsibilities within the office and on gamedays. The candidate profile and key responsibilities of this role are outlined below.

Schedule:

The interns will work approximately 10-20 hours in the office and at events that take place on nights, weekends, and may include events around holidays and university winter/spring breaks. They are also required to work football gamedays.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $14.00/ hour Maximum: $14.00/ hour

Creative skills, ability to work as part of a team, customer relations skills in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. Additionally, the candidate must be hardworking, reliable, outgoing, and interact well with people of all ages.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Athletic Marketing Intern will assist the UW Athletic Events & Promotional Marketing staff with the following duties:
• Development and execution of promotions to foster brand engagement
• Research, develop and/or execute marketing/promotion plans designed to meet established goals for assigned sport(s)
• Deliver the best customer gameday/event experience possible
• Work hand-in-hand with ticket office, event/facilities, brand communications, video services, partnership sales, coaching staff(s) and other support units to execute marketing initiatives
• Manage and execute special events and presentations
• Liaise with registered student organizations on campus
• Assist in the preparation, set-up, and execution of gameday promotions and events (pre-game giveaways, and in-game contests)
• Create a fun, and engaging experience for fans as they enter the arena/stadium
• Manage interactive kids’ areas
• Other event duties as assigned (may include duties outside of event days: event walk-throughs, training sessions, advanced event-day setup, etc.)

Additional Information
• All interns within the program are required to work football gamedays
• Program includes monthly professional development events
• Events occur throughout the academic year, including academic breaks and holidays
• Option to reapply for summer 2026 and the 2026-27 academic year

Physical Demands:

Must be able to carry 20 lbs.
