Schedule:

Flexible hours between Monday and Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT. We work around your class schedule! Hours can change every semester.

The duration of this appointment is for the end of the 2024-25 academic year with the opportunity to extend beyond.

You are:
A current UW–Madison student. All majors and fields of study are encouraged to apply; additional consideration given to individuals pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications/Journalism, or related field
A good communicator
A good organizer and planner
A team player
Enthusiastic
Attentive to detail
Interested in marketing communications, social media, website management, email marketing and outreach.
Excited to learn new technologies and software

You love to:
Come up with creative social media posts
Create graphics and video content
Find solutions to improve processes and workflows
Try new things and play with the latest AI tools
Help out wherever needed!

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The following experience is preferred, but not required:
Social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn and Facebook)
Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Premiere)
Microsoft Office Programs (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Email marketing programs (i.e., Eloqua or Constant Contact)
Cloud-based document management tools (i.e., Box, Google Drive)
Internal messaging apps and web conferencing tools (i.e., Teams, Zoom)
Basic HTML knowledge

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Marketing Communications Student Assistant will assist the Marketing Specialist with communications efforts for Online Graduate Programs, working on projects in areas including:
Social media strategy, analytics and content creation;
Outreach events and activities;
Email marketing;
Website management;
Videography and photography;
Graphic design;
Advertising campaigns; and
Customer service.
