Department Overview:
The Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring (CTLM) is part of the Division for Teaching & Learning (DTL) along with the Office of Academic and Career Success (OACS), the Morgridge Center for Public Service, the Rebecca M. Blank Center for Campus History (CCH), the Wisconsin Institute for Science Education and Community Engagement (WISCIENCE), and the Student Learning Assessment (SLA) office. In collaboration with the crucial work done in and by schools and colleges, CTLM supports UW–Madison faculty and staff in their continuing growth as practitioners of the complex, challenging and dynamic craft of teaching. Bringing together about 50 professional staff members with extensive and wide-ranging expertise, the center serves instructors at all career stages, including teaching assistants, by offering campus-level professional development, course design and instructional consulting programs and services.

Schedule:
20 hours a week during a schedule to be negotiated by the supervisor and PA. The PA will need to be available to attend regular staff meetings and be available to participate in interviews and other meetings scheduled during regular business hours.

Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at UW-Madison, with a preference for an earned bachelors degree in education, psychology, sociology, anthropology, or a social sciences related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
* Working knowledge and experience in program evaluation or qualitative research methods * Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex material succinctly and accurately using plain language * Ability to work independently as well as with a diverse team
Position Summary/Job Duties:
* Conducts structured interviews and classroom observations; facilitates focus groups * Manages data including electronic recordings and notes from interviews, focus groups, and similar activities; collects syllabi and other relevant artifacts; stores, organizes, and curates all materials appropriately * Conducts qualitative data analysis, which could include content analysis, coding and thematic analysis, writing summaries, and other types of analysis * Writes evaluation reports, crafts slide decks, and participates in presentations when necessary for staff and leadership within CTLM or particular stakeholder groups
Physical Demands:
Ability to physically attend meetings on campus when necessary, when remote or hybrid participation is not possible.
