Department Overview:

The Division of Continuing Studies serves the lifelong learning mission of UW-Madison. The division is the admitting unit for Special Students, houses the Adult Career and Special Services programs, and is home to teams that support campus partners like Summer Term, Professional Degrees and Certificates, and the UW-Madison Online Programs.

This position is available through December 2025, but has the possibility to extend to future semesters.

Schedule:

Work will be remote the majority of the time, must provide their own access to high speed internet. Occasional in-office tasks may be requested by the supervisor.
Must be able to work at least 12 hours per week during the summer. Summer work can be done remotely within the United States.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $15.00 Maximum: $15.00

Qualifications:

Excellent writing skills and oral communication skills
Able to evaluate and judge the quality/authority of information you find online or from other information resources and to correctly cite sources
Highly responsible, able to meet deadlines, and able to function in a professional work environment
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
Dependability, professionalism, solid work ethic and reliable attendance
Current UW-Madison undergraduate student (this is a student hourly paid position)
Basic understanding of introductory marketing and communications principles. This could be obtained through coursework or class projects.
HTML experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong writing and grammar skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Works well independently, but can collaborate with other student interns or staff as needed.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We require 1-2 detail-oriented writers who can help manage a library of recruitment messages and use data to create high quality, creative content. The Recruitment Content Intern(s) will work primarily on updating and laying out recruitment digital messages (emails and text messages), and writing and creating new messages. Additional duties may include mailing out gifts to admitted students and assisting with Powerpoint presentations and recorded video content. Other duties will be assigned as needed.
