Department Overview:

Schedule:
Initial training is within the hours of M-F 8-5 flexible on dates and times. Once independent this can be flexible in days and times.

Qualifications:
Must meet requirements for student hourly worker (at least 18 years old and enrolled for academic credit at an educational institution)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Experience with computers helpful. All training will be provided. Attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periods. Superior work ethic and commitment to work as part of a team. Mature and responsible person.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Wisconsin Reading Center (WRC) is within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Its mission is to evaluate ocular images for the presence and severity of ocular diseases. This position will primarily perform tasks associated with preparing digital ocular (eye) scans to be suitable for evaluation by Image Evaluators. All necessary training will be provided. These tasks include converting scan format in software followed by running the software algorithm to segment (draw automated lines) the scans. The student will review the automated lines and make corrections when necessary. In addition, this role may be assigned to tracking and entry of image data, and data quality evaluations The incumbent will be expected to complete the tasks independently and in a timely manner. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform work.
Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to distinguish color. Must be able to operate a standard keyboard and mouse.
