Some knowledge of biology and chemistry is necessary.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The student will assist with media preparation and Drosophila husbandry 2-3 times per week for ~ 2 hours each time. Media preparation requires weighing and measuring, using an autoclave, and dispensing media into vials. Drosophila husbandry includes sorting young males and females, and setting up and maintaining crosses.
Physical Demands:
Using a laboratory scale to weigh media components and getting media from a cart into and out of an autoclave.
