Department Overview:

The UW Health Clinical Simulation Program provides robust and realistic learning opportunities to prepare health care professionals for actual patient care. The program offers education opportunities for students, faculty, and staff from UW Health, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, other departments within UW-Madison, and the community.

Variable within 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM, Monday- Friday

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $12.00 per/hr Maximum: $12.00 per/hr

Qualifications:

● Undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, bio-medical engineering, or other related fields are preferred, but not required.
● Commitment of at least two years preferred but not required. (i.e. graduating May 2026 or later)
● Curiosity about healthcare simulation and healthcare professions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

● Comfortable using PC-based software applications (Microsoft Word and Excel)
● Familiarity with Box file storage system is recommended, but not required
● Within this position, student interns will utilize and strengthen their skills in time management, professional communication (written & verbal), prioritization, independent working, asking questions, and problem solving.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

● Assist CSP staff with set-up and clean-up of simulation and skills equipment as listed on our daily and weekly task list
● Attend all applicable meetings at the direction of the Program Supervisor
● Assist with other custom projects as assigned

Physical Demands:

Sitting for a duration of time, walking, stooping, crouching, and kneeling. Frequent reaching, carrying, lifting items of various weights, pushing, pulling, grasping, typing, talking-speaking clearly, hearing-conversation, and seeing-near.
