Department Overview:

Schedule:

8/26/2025 training week begins. 9/3/2025 projects/front desk hours begin. All work will be conducted on-site, with scheduled hours including front desk shifts, designated office hours for project-based tasks, and occasional evening hours as needed.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $15.00/ hour  Maximum: $15.00/ hour

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled undergraduate student at UW-Madison

Have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5

Strong writing, communication, and customer service skills

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management

Punctual, reliability, and adaptable to a flexible work schedule

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Interest and knowledge in inclusion initiatives.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects.

Knowledge of best practices in social media engagement, digital marketing, and multiculturalism.

Experience or familiarity with digital marketing trends, social media strategies or email marketing platforms.

Experience or familiarity with creative, editing and design software.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Promote the center as a space for studying, programming, and gathering.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance outreach and engagement efforts.

Research and write well-crafted, relevant content for digital platforms.

Analyze social media insights to refine marketing strategies.

Build relationships with students and organizations to enhance the center’s reach.

Help staff the Multicultural Center front desk and provide general center support as needed.

This role has two focus areas and will be assigned based on skills and interest:
Option 1: Social Media Engagement
Lead Instagram content, including posts, stories, and messaging.
Create engaging Reels and short-form videos with basic video editing to enhance engagement.
Maintain and analyze Instagram insights to identify trends and engagement strategies.

Option 2: Email & Digital Communications
Write and manage email campaigns through the Eloqua system.
Manage LinkedIn posts and professional messaging efforts.
Maintain and update digital signage, including TV and monitor displays.

Physical Demands:

You will be asked to wipe down tables and move furniture around for event reservations or other needs.
