The Project Assistant will work 20 hours/week throughout the academic year. They will have a dedicated desk in the UHS Marketing & Health Communications office space, located at 333 East Campus Mall. This individual is expected to maintain a regular, weekly in-person schedule. Opportunities to work remotely can be discussed during the interview process. This is a one-year assistantship through May 2026.

Qualifications:

- Full-time graduate student at UW-Madison
- Preferred majors: Journalism, Marketing, Communication Arts, Computer Science, Information Science, Human Resources, English

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Written and verbal communication skills
- Editing, proofreading, and formatting for print and web
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Familiarity with Wordpress website software
- Familiarity and/or willingness to learn Eloqua emailing software

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Project Assistant will support internal communications projects that facilitate collaboration and communication for UHS staff. This includes both larger, long-term projects, as well as smaller ongoing tasks, including:
- Coordinating content for and send the monthly UHS staff newsletter
- Auditing and managing the UHS website in preparation for transitioning the site to a new UW theme
- Coordinating UHS internal communication processes in collaboration with the Marketing & Health Communications team, including building signage, bulletin board management, and outreach material distribution
- Supporting internal communications initiatives in alignment with UHS’s strategic plan
