Department Overview:
As part of the student health center, the UHS Violence Prevention team provides services designed to increase the capacity of the entire UW-Madison community to address sexual harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence, sexual harassment, and stalking. https://www.uhs.wisc.edu/prevention/violence-prevention/

Schedule:
20 hours/week M-F (0.5 PA appointment). Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Scheduling established with supervisor depending on the student’s class schedule and other commitments.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree (Psychology, Social Work, Gender & Women’s Studies, Health Promotion & Health Equity, Sociology, Population Health, or related field preferred). -Currently enrolled in a graduate or professional program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Counseling Psychology, Social Work/Welfare, Public Health, Population Health Sciences, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, Sociology, or related field preferred) -Knowledge of dynamics of sexual harassment, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking, especially among graduate and professional students -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Excellent project management and time management skills -Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information -Must be team-oriented and be able to work independently to oversee program initiatives and deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
-Understanding of dynamics of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking as well as services available to UW-Madison students -Demonstrated experience using statistical analysis software such as R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, and/or Excel. Excellent customer service and people skills -Excellent written and oral communication skills -Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and privacy -Knowledge of public health principles and practices -Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to the principles of student development and health equity. -Experience in program assessment and evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative results analysis. -Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word to organize basic information, do basic analyses, and prepare summary reports. -Experience in campus sexual and/or relationship violence prevention programming preferred. -Experience planning and managing campus events preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
-Leads effort to assess and evaluate UHS Violence Prevention programs and services for data samples of 10,000+ including: statistical analysis of quantitative data; coding and thematic analysis of qualitative data; conducting focus groups and interviews; and compiling summary results in end-of-semester reports. -Support planning of annual conference to convene partners in prevention and victim advocacy services across the Big Ten network. -Manages customer service e-mail account by resolving and responding to student inquiries. -Conducts regular literature reviews on assigned topics to keep prevention staff informed of relevant research and current best practices in prevention approaches. -Assist with outreach efforts for the UHS Prevention & Campus Health Initiatives department. -Assist with coordination, delivery, and/or facilitation of violence prevention trainings, presentations, and workshops. -Provides direct support to UHS violence prevention managers in the research, development, implementation, and assessment of primary violence prevention efforts for and with UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff. -Other duties as assigned. Examples include: coordinating, attending, facilitating and/or recording minutes for meetings as appropriate; creating, reviewing, and updating materials to use for violence prevention programs, deliverables, and websites.
