Qualifications:

If you ...
- Are receiving a minor or major in graphic design at UW-Madison
- Are currently a First-Year, Sophomore, or Junior at UW-Madison
- Have experience creating graphic design content
- Possess the desire to develop design skills in a real-world context
- Understand design and image composition
- Understand typography and grid systems
- Can manage project deadlines
- Demonstrate creative initiative and an eagerness to learn
- Have an eye for detail but an appreciation for the bigger picture
- Possess communication and interpersonal skills for working as part of a team
- Are excited to build your portfolio and share your work
- Possess excellent time-management and organization skills
- Are self-motivated and can work independently

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Experience or interest in AfterEffects and motion design
- Familiarity designing within set branding guidelines
- Familiarity with setting up projects for print and digital use
- Experience with MacOS

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Graphic Design role involves delivering high quality professional designs while owning the entire design process from concept to completion. Responsibilities include contributing to brainstorming sessions, content planning, and storytelling across multiple platforms, all while ensuring consistency with the Rec Well brand guidelines. This position requires effective time management to handle multiple projects and deadlines, as well as regular collaboration with fellow designers and marketing team members. Attendance at monthly marketing meetings and regular 1-on-1 check-ins with a supervisor is also expected.
