Department Overview:
The Media Preservation service operated by the Department of Communication Arts helps preserve legacy film and video for generations to come. Working closely with the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research and several other campus partners, this service aims to digitize many of the legacy media collections on campus as well as provide a means for external clients to get affordable and high-quality digital transfers.

Qualifications:
Communication Arts or Library/Archive students preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly • Attention to detail • Experience in customer service preferred • Basic knowledge of audio and video equipment and concepts is appreciated, not required
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Track and catalog incoming film and video orders • Monitor and respond to client email inquiries • Inspect, clean, and prep film; repair splices • Inspect, clean, and dehydrate tapes • Gain equipment proficiency to be able to attend to active film and video transfers • Package and prepare orders for shipping
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift 25 pounds • Ability to work in a standing position for at least one hour
