Department Overview:
The Business Services team manages the purchasing and finances of all of the Libraries within the General Library System, including Memorial, College and Steenbock Libraries.

Schedule:
This is on onsite position, working in Memorial Library. Hours will need to be worked on either Mondays through Thursdays during regular business hours when there are staff onsite to assist with questions. The number of hours and start and end times are flexible.

Qualifications:
- Current student at UW-Madison or other academic institution.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Required - Strong attention to detail - Experience with entering and manipulating data in Excel spreadsheets or similar programs - Ability to work independently to complete projects - Dependability Preferred: -Experience with basic financial practices such as creating and maintaining invoices, reconciling spreadsheets, cash net reconciliations, and purchasing.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Business Services Student Assistant will help with a broad range of financial duties, providing essential support to the rest of the team. Duties will include: - Validating/cross checking funding strings for purchases - Data entry into the purchasing log sheets - Updating physical plant billing sheets - Poster printing entry into funding validation spreadsheet - Answering and routing emails which are received through Business Services general email account - Assisting with cash net reconciliations - Special projects as assigned.

Ability to work at a computer to complete work.
