Schedule:

This position will work 20 hours per week between the days of Monday through Friday during standard office hours.

This position will be appointed on an annual basis, up to two years in duration based on student eligibility.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in a graduate program.
- Graduate students in basic sciences, clinical sciences, population health sciences, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Database entry experience and/or experience in clinical research is helpful.
- Knowledge of medical diagnoses and data collection and management skills are preferred.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is valuable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Healthlink (Epic), and REDcap are helpful.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery is seeking an individual to assist with maintaining two clinical research and outcomes tracking databases. The student will work on projects led by faculty in the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He/she will be expected to perform database queries, review and input clinical data into two databases, contact patients, and oversee data entry and quality. Using effective communication, the selected individual will collaborate with healthcare professionals on the care team to provide assistance in data collection and ensure data quality. The student may also oversee undergraduate students working on database-related research projects. The student will need to work within the offices of the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WISOR) on WISOR computers only, and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
