Qualifications:
This position requires the ability to lift and move items (10–50 lbs.) with or without an accommodation, and perform a variety of tasks, including furniture moving, event support, mail room deliveries, and cleaning or organizing spaces. The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments and collaborating effectively with multiple groups within the College of Engineering.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Summary of Qualifications: Basic knowledge of workplace safety, task management systems, and facility upkeep. Strong time management, communication, and basic computer skills. Able to work independently or on a team, handle physical tasks, and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach. Knowledge: • General knowledge of safety procedures and workplace practices • Awareness of work order systems or task management processes • Understanding of cleaning, groundskeeping, and overall facility upkeep Skills: • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment • Effective communication with staff, and building occupants • Basic computer skills (e.g., work order systems, email, spreadsheets) Abilities: • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment/materials (within required limits) • Ability to maintain a professional presence and provide strong customer service
Position Summary/Job Duties:
This position is located within the College of Engineering Facilities group and supports day-to-day operations across multiple engineering buildings. Student employees will assist with mailroom operations (QTrak), including scanning, photographing, and delivering items; support event logistics by delivering equipment and assisting with setups in Engineering Hall (EH), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Engineering Centers Building (ECB); and help maintain shared spaces by removing outdated materials from bulletin boards across EH, ME, ECB, and Wendt. Additional responsibilities include assisting facility technicians with tasks such as hanging glass boards, moving furniture, and supporting space vacating and setup needs.
Physical Demands:
This position required the ability to lift 50 lbs with or without an accommodation.
