This in-person research experience will support students interested in developing science education research skills. Students will receive mentorship, engage in collaborative research meetings, and learn how theory informs data analysis and interpretation in education research.
Specifically, they will:
• work with real physiology classroom and student interview data
• learn how to analyze student reasoning using established theoretical frameworks
• participate in guided qualitative coding and interpretation
• engage in weekly research meetings, literature readings, and discussions
This experience is especially meaningful for students who are curious about how people learn science and who want to deepen their understanding of physiology beyond memorizing content. Whether students are considering careers in medicine, biology, research, or education, this opportunity provides a window into how scientific reasoning develops and how research can improve undergraduate STEM learning.

Time Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week during the summer.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students in good academic standing with a strong interest in physiology, biology, or STEM education research. Prior research experience is helpful but not required.
