Department Overview:

UHS offers award-winning, high quality medical, mental health, prevention, and wellness services to enrolled UW-Madison students. In this role, you will work closely with the mental health outreach team and other clinicians, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
2. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
4. Experience providing administrative, customer service, or office support preferred.
5. Interest in student engagement, mental health outreach, or campus programming.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
2. Knowledge of basic administrative office practices, event coordination, and outreach support.
3. Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with diverse campus communities.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Prepare and organize promotional materials, including packing swag wagons and ensuring Grab & Go bags are stocked and ready for distribution.
• Participate in Outreach Team meetings and contribute ideas to support student engagement initiatives.
• Maintain and update the MHS Outreach calendar and waiting room displays with current flyers, events, and seasonal or themed content.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director (AD) to identify student organizations and campus groups for outreach, partnerships, and focus group opportunities.
• Attend meetings with the Communications team to provide a student perspective and feedback on marketing materials, campaigns, and outreach deliverables.
• Meet regularly with the Associate Director and Outreach Coordinator to discuss progress, share updates, and receive guidance on projects and responsibilities.
• Support the preparation and implementation of outreach events
