Department Overview:

WIDA is a department within the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education that provides trusted tools and resources for educators of language learners, Pre-K through Grade 12 (www.wida.us).

Qualifications:

Required:
- Undergraduate student (preferably L&S but this isn't a requirement) who is able to make a commitment through January (perhaps extended to May 2027). Candidates must be able to work during our busiest times of September and January 4th - January 29th.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to a creative team & passionate about serving students and the educators who serve them.
- A desire to work in an organization committed to engaging and inspiring the educators who impact the lives of multilingual learners.
Optional: Students planning on earning a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or similar.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficient with computer applications including Windows-based computing systems and Microsoft Office products.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated history of strong organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and to exercise initiative, self-motivation, independent judgment, and action.
• Experience navigating a web-mediated environment to identify appropriate resources.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Educator Outreach Specialist will reside in the Client Relations department, which supports educators of English language learners through a variety of products and services related to our Standards and Assessments. This position will be primarily responsible for the development and delivery of technical assistance to educators from WIDA Consortium member states in the form of answering questions about test administration, training course accounts, and the WIDA standards for use in instruction. Additional duties include supporting webinar presentations, user acceptance testing, and other duties as assigned.
