Department Overview:
The PA will help create and maintain online resources that support badge participants, including a website and Canvas course site. The assistant will also support the integration between Canvas and the Parchment Digital Badging platform, assist with student communications and outreach, and respond to student inquiries regarding the digital badges.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications • Current graduate student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. • Experience creating or maintaining websites. • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Canvas. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities. • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications • Interest in instructional design, educational technology, digital learning, or higher education administration. • Experience with learning management systems, website design, or digital content creation. • Experience providing customer service or student support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
This position provides meaningful professional experience that can support career paths in higher education, instructional design, educational technology, student affairs, project management, communications, and nonprofit or corporate training environments. Through this role, the PA will: • Gain experience developing and managing digital learning resources. • Build skills in website design and learning management systems. • Learn about digital credentialing and educational technology platforms. • Develop project management and program coordination experience. • Strengthen written communication, outreach, and customer-service skills. • Collaborate with campus stakeholders and educational professionals. • Contribute to innovative initiatives that help students demonstrate valuable global competencies to employers and graduate programs. Position Summary/Job Duties:
Digital Badge Program Development and Support • Assist with the administration and implementation of digital badge programs focused on Intercultural Competence, Critical Thinking on Global Issues, and WISLI. • Support the integration of Canvas resources with the Parchment Digital Badging platform. • Help facilitate badge-awarding processes and ensure a positive user experience for participants. Website and Canvas Resource Development • Design, develop, and maintain a website that serves as a central resource hub for badge participants. • Create and organize content within Canvas to support student learning and engagement. • Ensure badge resources are accessible, user-friendly, and up to date. • Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop new digital learning materials and resources. Student Communications and Outreach • Respond to student inquiries regarding badge requirements, processes, and participation. • Assist in developing communication materials, announcements, promotional content, and outreach strategies. • Support efforts to increase awareness and participation in badge programs. Project Coordination and Administrative Support • Track project timelines, tasks, and program documentation. • Assist with data collection, recordkeeping, and program evaluation activities. • Participate in meetings and collaborate with campus partners as needed. • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for badge programs and associated resources.
