Department Overview:

 Student Recruiters play a key role in sharing information about the School of Education and our programs/majors/offerings with the public. You will:
- Lead presentations and participate in student panels
- Welcome and generate excitement among prospective students and guests
- Develop content for social media, websites, emails, etc.
- Provide general support for recruitment events and initiatives

This role will help you develop better public speaking and leadership skills. You’ll also gain experience with marketing and communication strategies. The role requires professionalism, accountability, and comfort speaking with a variety of audiences

Note: We provide training! We will help you develop skills in marketing, influencing, public speaking, event coordination, and enrollment strategy.

Schedule:

 Build valuable experience without a huge time commitment.
- Wednesdays from 5-7 PM
- Fridays from 2-5 PM
- Fall & Spring Availability during these times is required
This may work well for students with a busy course load, a second job, or a preference for a lighter work schedule without compromising professional skill-building.

*If you are a student teacher during the Spring Semester, we can work together to accommodate your student teaching hours. Note: It may work best for those who plan to student teach in elementary schools.

Qualifications:

 ● A School of Education undergraduate student in good academic standing
● Preference for students studying:
○ Elementary Education
○ Elementary Education/Special Education
○ Art
○ Art Education
○ Rehabilitation Psychology
○ Health Promotion and Health Equity
● Preference for third and fourth year students

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

● Excellent verbal communication
● Enthusiasm for the School of Education and your academic program
● Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
● Comfortable using basic administrative tools such as Google Sheets
● Willing to support event logistics and contribute to a welcoming guest experience
● Able to take initiative and work independently or collaboratively
● Open to feedback and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
● Maintain professionalism

Position Summary/Job Duties:

● Represent the School of Education at information sessions and events
● Assist with event logistics and coordination, hosting visitors, and event setup/breakdown
● Share your personal experience and provide thoughtful advice to prospective students
● Attend all scheduled sessions

Physical Demands:

● Ability to communicate verbal and in writing
● Ability to help set up events (lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects up to 10lbs)
● Sitting for up to 3 hours
