Department Overview:
The Undergraduate Chemistry Office supports the operational aspects of the UW-Madison Undergraduate Chemistry Program and the multitude of courses offered by the department. The program serves over 4,000 students per semester, with 55% of all UW students taking at least one chemistry course during their undergraduate career.

Schedule:
Schedule of hours will be determined upon hire, based on worker availability and class schedule between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Minimum: $12.50-$13.50 hourly depending on experience, with regular opportunities for increases Maximum:

Qualifications:
Current UW-Madison undergraduate student. Priority will be given to students not enrolled in chemistry courses with availability for multiple semesters (preference for sophomore or junior standing). The preferred candidate will be friendly, dependable, professional, organized, and self-motivated. The ability to maintain confidentiality is required. Work during finals week is required, but scheduling can easily accommodate your own final exams. No prior office experience is needed, but it is preferred.

- Customer service experience - Effective communication skills - Strong attention to detail - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Problem solving and navigating web resources - Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Position Summary/Job Duties:
- Staff the front desk and answer visitor questions - Assist with exam administration - Proctor quizzes and exams - Assist instructors and students with various office needs - Assist with special events
Physical Demands:
There is potential for physically lifting and moving boxes up to 40 pounds. However, this is not a core requirement and can be completed by other team members if needed.
