Department Overview:

The McFarland Youth Center is a community-based organization committed to supporting middle school aged youth, families and community by providing a safe recreational and educational environment. By incorporating adult-supervised, youth oriented activities, the McFarland Youth Center promotes positive relationships by building and fostering developmental assets.

Monday-Friday 12:30pm-5:30pm

Qualifications:

-Experience with children or youth preferred
-Personal transportation necessary(The McFarland Youth Center is not on the Madison metro bus route)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Supervising small groups of children

Position Summary/Job Duties:

-Assist with the planning and implementation of summer programming
-Supervise other staff, interns and volunteers in the absence of the managing director
-Keep youth center clean and organized
-Interact with parents and other community members while representing the McFarland Youth Center
-Work with and empower youth of diverse cultural and emotional standings
-Assist with the planning and implementation of social emotional groups
-Participate in restorative justice methods to behavioral redirection
-Maintain a safe and respectful environment
-Hang out with and have fun with middle school aged youth
-Work with youth to creatively brain storm safe community service/ youth volunteer opportunities.
