Department Overview:

MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50+ fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Interest in working with people with disabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively, and exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact when dealing with people with disabilities, including adults.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with the staff team.
Self-directed and motivated to create and develop engaging plans.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience planning and leading a variety of recreation/enrichment activities.
Experience working with people with disabilities and with adults, is a plus.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Devise a program for City Club activities serving adults with disabilities. This involves planning and leading social, recreational, fitness and outdoor pursuits for community members who have disabilities in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Start Date: 6/12/2024

Program Dates: 6/19-8/14/2024

Work Location: MSCR Central, 328 E Lakeside St.
