Department Overview:

Our philosophy at Kind and Joyful Childcare is to provide each child with a loving, caring and nurturing atmosphere through daily activities that will challenge them socially, physically, mentally and emotionally. There will be a Christian component to our program, such as mealtime prayers or songs, stories, and displays of the Christian aspects of holidays. We will lead by example by modeling Christian morals and values to the children while encouraging exploration, creativity and curiosity. Positive reinforcement will be used when children need guidance and your child’s teacher will focus on your child as an individual; finding ways to provide them what they need. Each child who enters our doors is exposed to vital life skills to create a healthy foundation in all aspects of life.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching and be able to create engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students for no school days. For days when the kids are in school, the focus would be on social emotional growth. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with students, parents and staff while also demonstrating strong classroom management skills. We are looking for someone who is committed to helping our students reach their full potential and is passionate about education.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the needs of all students for no school days.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Assist students with homework in academic subjects, such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance.
  • Drive a 12 passenger van to pick children up from school
  • Independently manage all aspects of the classroom

Qualifications:

Must count as a lead teacher.  To do so, you must have completed two college courses pertaining to education or psychology and apply for a registry certificate upon hire OR have a registry certificate level 3 or higher. 

Physical Demands

Lift at least 40 pounds and keep up with the physical demands of the kids in your room.
