Position Summary/Job Duties:

Looking for spring and summer care for our 7 year old autistic daughter. She is easy going and enthusiastic and needs help with daily care and activities. Looking for someone to come help watch and play with her, ideally 20 hrs a week. We are flexible on hours (10-30/week) and scheduled times/days. Mom is an artist who works part time from home and can work flexible hours.  Our daughter is an energetic, kind, smart girl who is probably the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. When others are hurt or sad, daughter wants to give hugs and support. She is very curious and loves art, her dog, and playing at the pool or park. We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic person to engage in activities with her and assist with daily care and regulation.  We have a swing set in the backyard and there are several parks within easy walking distance. We also have a pass to a nearby pool.

Qualifications:

An ideal candidate would have some experience babysitting or working with children, be comfortable playing with kids inside and outside, making basic snacks/meals, taking them on walks, and possibly to local venues (parks or the zoo or the splash pad, for example) and be a good/open communicator. Someone who has some prior experience interacting with autistic or neurodivergent people or is open to learning!

Physical Demands

Respite worker must be physically able to support our child in daily living activities. Help prepping lunch/snacks (no cooking just sandwiches, cutting fruit).
