Department Overview:

QHRC serves clinical and public health researchers by providing qualitative research design, data collection, and data analysis, with an emphasis on health outcomes, health disparities, and health-related quality of life.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Qualitative Health Research Consultants, LLC (QHRC) is recruiting a Research Assistant/Project Manager to assist the company in research projects in our downtown Madison office. We are looking for highly-motivated, empathetic, and analytical researchers who want to join a health services research consulting firm at the ground level. 

Responsibilities include: Study Coordination, including outreach, screening and scheduling interview and focus group participants; conducting interviews with study participants, Learning and using NVivo software to code interview transcripts, some assistance with developing interview guides and qualitative codebooks, and participation in a weekly Qualitative Research Methods Seminar.


The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in learning qualitative research methods from the ground up
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience working in a clinical setting a plus
  • Some background in Social Science or Health Science Research required
  • Conversant with all Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, One Note, Power Point
  • Comfort with Apple Computers
  • BA, BS, MA, MS, MPH, MSW in progress or completed in a Health Science or Social Science discipline
