Hours

  • Academic Year:
    • A Dish Washer works at least 12 hours a week with a biweekly, rotating weekend schedule. A schedule should include at least 1 weekend shift and 1 closing shift.
    • Shifts start throughout the day, from 5:30 AM and on, and may end near 1:00 AM.
    • If working in Catering: hours per week could vary between 0-20 hours, with 20 hours being the highest (only on an occasional basis based on catering events & your availability). Some weeks there may not be events scheduled and as a result, no hours of work required. Students are invited to work in an additional unit to supplement their catering hours.
    • Scheduling is flexible and based on academic availability and operational need.
  • Summer:
    • A Summer Dish Washer works an average of 15-20 hours per week.
    • Schedules are made on a weekly basis and vary depending on projected customer counts.
    • Summer hours available based on operational need.
  • Seasonal:
    • This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 30 hour per week average rule in regards to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

A Dining & Culinary Services Dish Washer works with full-time staff members to maintain a clean and attractive workplace. While using the appropriate cleaning equipment, washes dishes, pans, and utensils and unload and organize dishes. During the summer months, Dish Washers assist with dining operations for Conference Service guests.

  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine
  • Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine
  • Unload dishes and utensils from dish machine and organize them properly
  • Empty trash containers regularly
  • Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
