The Center for Leadership & Involvement (CfLI) assists students in intentionally connecting with the far ranging opportunities that exist throughout campus, including student organizations. As a Center we offer leadership programming that supports students in making meaning of these experiences and in developing leadership capacity – the ability to affect positive change.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
The goal of the JLC is to inspire and prepare students to work in partnership with others to positively transform themselves, their peers, and their communities through free leadership workshops.
JLC Interns are responsible for a variety of tasks that may include:
Facilitating (3-4 workshops per semester), attendance at a weekly staff meeting and assuming additional tasks as needed.
Developing and enacting an on-going recruitment plan to attract participants to JLC events which includes: actively conducting outreach, hosting information sessions and promotional events, and networking with other organizations.
Preparing and updating Leadership Workshop curriculum, handouts, and audiovisual tools
Creating assessment tools for student facilitators and programs.
Coordinating event logistics (space, supplies, registration, etc.) for JLC programming.
Researching, communicating, and coordinating event logistics 2 Engage Leadership Speaker events for the academic year.
Managing the JLC Authentic Leader of the Month program through outreach, review of applications, and contacting monthly winners.
Researching, promoting, and arranging student travel (if allowed based on health and safety guidelines) for 2-3 Explore Leadership Conference sponsorships each semester.
Participating in weekly team meetings and weekly one-to-one meetings with supervisor.
Attending and participating in Social Justice Workshops arranged by the Center for Leadership & Involvement.
Qualifications:
Must be a current student with knowledge, skills, and commitment to:
Working independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Providing friendly, responsive service to our customers and other office staff.
Determining priorities, paying attention to details, and taking initiative.
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, and have strong organizational skills.
A willingness to create an inclusive, welcoming and open working environment.
Engage in diverse learning opportunities that spark exploration & develop socio-cultural awareness.
Experience with publicizing organizations/events and content creation is beneficial.
Must be an undergraduate student at UW-Madison.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 – should GPA fall below 2.0, a meeting with the staff supervisor would be required.
This position may require in-person and/or remote work dependent on health and safety guidelines.
