Position Summary/Job Duties:

Hi, I'm a law professor with a special needs young adult who needs full-time care.  We're looking to add a few caregivers to our team helping out our sweet young lady (just turned 20) with special needs. She's non-verbal, but she *loves* being around people and is very easy to work with. Caregiving would include feeding, helping her with physical therapy & mobility exercises, feeding, and diapering when necessary, but mostly being a friendly companion who talks and reads to her to keep her engaged and happy. We're also open to any craft/playtime activities you want to get creative with!

Afterschool hours and weekends available. (Also a possibility for live-in set up sometime in the near future if you're interested in housing!)

We live very close to the UW campus (off Monroe Street near Edgewood College) - a quick bike or bus ride from UW and just a couple of blocks from Edgewood College.

Hourly rate is $16-20 depending on experience.

We're interviewing candidates now, to start whenever available.  We're hoping to get foks who want to be with us through the school year (or longer if interested).

Qualifications:

Priority given to those with experience or study/interest in: education, special needs, nursing, health care, child development, PT, OT, Speech therapy.

Need to be able to support the weight of a young adult (she leans on you when she walks and needs support from falling).

Application Instructions:

Please send letter of interest, resume and references to aquraishi@wisc.edu.
