Wave Swim Team strives to cultivate a community where youth swimmers of all ages and abilities are empowered to achieve their full potential, both in and out of the water. Our year-round USA Swimming program of ~150 swimmers runs exclusively from the Waunakee High School Aquatic Center.  We have very experienced, professional coaches with a passion to develop both our swimmers, but also bring new and experienced coaches to new heights.  Learn more about our team from our website. 

Flexible scheduling available for weekday evening shifts (typically 6-9p M-Th) and occasional weekend shifts (practices & meets), totally 3-10 hours per week.

We are currently seeking a reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic part-time Assistant Coach to add to our program.  Flexible scheduling for evening and occasional weekend shifts, totally 3-10 hours per week.  Under the supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach would be responsible for assisting with group practices, guiding swimmers individually with technique enhancements, and providing assistance at meets.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in execution of group practices.
• Ensure group practices are conducted in a safe, friendly, and competitive manner.
• Provide swimmers individualized feedback on technique.
• Assist at scheduled meet sessions.
• Provide Head Coach input into meet lineups.

Key Qualifications:

• A positive, dynamic personality with a proven track record of relating well to youth athletes.
• 2+ years of coaching, teaching, or similar experience.
• Strong background in competitive swimming, with understanding of relevant technique & training concepts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to be authoritative when enforcing team or facility rules.
• Ability to work cooperatively with swimmers, their families, and other coaches.
• Certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, First-Aid, and AED, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Current USA Swimming Coach certifications, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
