Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Schedule:
The schedule varies, and is not fixed week-by-week. Shifts are determined based on the Pyle Center's weekly catering/business needs and the availability provided in your application.
Additional Scheduling Notes
Must be able to work some weekends
Minimum expectation for a shift is 2-3 hours at a time.
Most standard shifts typically last about 4 hours.
Looking to fill shifts during the following times:
6am-10am
10am-2pm
Morning/Lunch
Must be able to work mornings or nights on some weekends as needed.
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Retrieving, restocking, and replenishing food and supplies
Prepare and present food items for buffets and meals
Clean and prepare work and storage areas
Attend to customer's food and beverage needs during a catered event
Set up and take down serving lines, tables, or portable units
Clean, slice, and season ingredients
Help prepare for the next day's production
Assist permanent food service staff with preparing a variety of hot and cold foods (i.e. salads, sandwiches, appetizers, baked goods, pre-dishing meals, etc)
Please note, meat is served in this position but accomodations can be made for those with specific needs or preferences

Demonstrate a commitment to the success of the Wisconsin Union.
Promote respect and practice civility in the workplace.
Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Ability to lift 20 pounds and push or pull 100 pound carts.
Follow all safety procedures and attend required health, safety and security trainings
Student Status
To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
