Department Overview:

Camp Woodbrooke is a small, nature-based summer camp located in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Rooted in Quaker values, we provide a supportive and inclusive environment where campers can explore the outdoors, develop confidence, and build a strong sense of community. Our program emphasizes hands-on learning, cooperation, and respect for nature, fostering independence and personal growth in a screen-free setting.

With a low camper-to-staff ratio, we offer individualized attention and a close-knit camp experience. Campers participate in activities such as hiking, swimming, organic gardening, nature crafts, and outdoor skills, all while forming lasting friendships. Our staff are passionate about mentoring and creating a safe, welcoming space for every child.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Camp Woodbrooke, a small, nature-based summer camp, is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator & Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for campers and staff. This role is ideal for an organized and adaptable individual who enjoys working in a community-focused, outdoor setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare balanced, kid-friendly meals, including vegetarian and allergy-friendly options.

  • Manage kitchen operations, including food inventory, ordering, and storage.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen that meets health and safety standards.

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen assistants and camper helpers.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive dining experience for campers and staff.

This position includes room and board, with time off built into the weekly schedule. Join us for a summer of meaningful work in a beautiful natural setting!

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service, cooking, or kitchen management preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a rustic camp environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions and special meal requests.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
